Head of Group Downstream Chemicals Margin Management

The team:

Rare opportunity to join a highly motivated MOL Group Chemicals team that works every day to transform MOL Group into a more Chemical focused company. The team is responsible for the long-term development as well as the short-term management and optimization of a complex chemical value chain including 20+ production units, over 2,000 customers and nearly 2.0 million tonnes of finished products.

The role:

Responsible and accountable for the maximization of MOL Group's Chemicals profits by optimizing the value chain from feedstock supply until production of chemical products (base chemicals, polymers, polyols) including the supervision of intra- and cross-site (semi-) finished product transfers, production level of (semi-) finished product as well as the inventory positions considering asset availability, embedded risks/opportunities and on- time in-full supply of customers. The direct team consists of 12 superb colleagues located in Bratislava (Slovakia), Budapest and Tiszaújváros (Hungary). The role is to be based on one of those locations.

Responsibilities:

• Accountable for margin maximization of Group Downstream Chemicals by setting short-term targets of MOL Group production sites (MPC, SPC, Danube Refinery) on monthly basis
• Responsible for achieving the highest margin/best inventory profile by optimizing Group Chemicals Turnaround Plan in a 2 years horizon considering feasibility constrains and market supply security
• As an owner of Business Planning process responsible for creating yearly business plan to achieve the highest possible margin. Monitors its implementation and continuously identifies and drives implementation of short term margin opportunities and synergies to increase value generation
• Owner of margin management related decision making forums for Chemical products. Responsible for economics calculation during monthly execution and operational improvement projects.
• Manages feedstock (together with Group Downstream Value Chain Optimization) and (semi-)finished inventory of base chemicals/polymers/polyols and ensures efficient utilization of storage places and maximize return on inventory.
• Ensures Supply Chain Process implementation. Supervise margin management related tools' usage .
• Creates and maintains scheduling processes in cooperation with Group and Local organizations

What we look for:

• BSc or MSc in Chemical Engineering and/or Business/Finance
• 10 years of relevant refining/chemical industry experience of which 5 years of managing people/projects
• Knowledge of relevant IT tools (PIMS, Orion, Sigmafine, SAP, etc.) and optimization/scheduling processes
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills
• Ability to quickly understand complex problems and make quick decisions
• Ability and agility to manage and drive diverse stakeholder pools
• Fluency in English is a must, Slovakian/Hungarian knowledge is an advantage
